This October 15^th at 12:00 p.m. the Official Opening Ceremony of the St. Petersburg International Health Forum took place.  The Messe Düsseldorf Moscow Company proudly presented its still quite young project “MEDIZ St. Petersburg” - Medicine and Health -, an exhibition that was launched within the frames of the Forum for the second time.

The official opening ceremony was attended by many important representatives of the healthcare sector, which confirms the importance of a stable and high-quality health protection system for the development of the economy as a whole. The ceremony was attended by Mr. Valery Kolabutin, Chairman of the St. Petersburg Health Committee; Mr. Pavel Soltan, Deputy Chairman of the St. Petersburg Legislative Assembly; Mrs. Rimma Sychunova, Deputy Chairman for Tourism Development; Mrs. Irina Lyubina, CEO of PRIMEXPO Ltd., Mr. Sergey Voronkov, CEO of EF-International Ltd.; Mr. Thomas Stenzel, Managing Director of Messe Düsseldorf Moscow.

The special project “MEDIZ St. Petersburg” was created with the official support of MEDICA - an international exhibition held in Düsseldorf, Germany. The importance of cooperation between national and foreign partners aimed at achieving high medical standards has been confirmed by the expected presence of representatives of the St. Petersburg Health Committee at the MEDICA exhibition in November.

This year’s Forum is being held in the Expoforum - a completely new congress and exhibition center. There were exhibitors from 15 countries and 12 regions of Russia represented at the Forum. Among them manufacturers and suppliers of medical equipment, pharmaceutical companies, developers of biotechnology, representatives of medical centers, sanatorium resort organisations and private clinics.

An extensive business program will be presented to visitors and exhibitors of the trade fair. The following events will be held within its frames: The conference “Topical Pharmacy Issues 2014”; the plenary session “Healthy Cities”; the competition of biological developments; the conference “Bioindustry on its Way to Future Biotechnology”, the international conference “Aesthetic Medicine”; the conference “Physiotherapy: Sanatorium ResortTreatment and Complementary Technologies in Dermatology”; the 2^nd international conference “Modern Medical Centers. Investments. Equipment”; the executive conference of the chief specialists for health facilities in St. Petersburg and Leningrad region. Topic of the conference – “Periodic Health Examination”.

The “Expoforum” congress and exhibition centre was built according to the standards of the UFI. It is a trade fair center of international level. Due to its transport accessibility from Pulkovo Airport the trade fair centre is convenient to visit not only for Russian specialists but for international experts as well.
