The St. Petersburg International Health Forum will take place on October 16th -18th 2013. Four leading organizers of conferences and trade fairs – SAO ExpoForum, OOO Messe Düsseldorf Moscow, MOO “Chelovek i ego zdorov'e” and SAO “Primexpo” combine their efforts to organize this forum. 

The Government of St. Petersburg supported the initiative to merge several medical congresses and trade fair events to the biggest event in the north-west of Russia – the St. Petersburg International Health Forum. According to the vice-governor Olga Kazantseva, this forum will be the most important event for all representatives of the health industry. It will contribute to the implementation of state public health modernization programs aimed at improving the quality of people’s life. 

The St. Petersburg International Health Forum is an integrated platform for healthcare professionals which brings together trade fairs, scientific, practical and business events that affect all medical branches. The strategic goal of the project is the provision of a comprehensive inter-sectoral and inter-disciplinary approach for the development of the health industry. That is why this project is supported not only by the Government of St. Petersburg but also by the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Russian Ministry of Health, the Russian Ministry of Economic Development, the Russian Ministry of Education and Science and by the Russian Ministry of Agriculture. 

Russian and foreign exhibitors will present machines and equipment, the latest technology, pharmaceuticals, medical and wellness services and tools, bio-products and other innovative solutions for prevention and treatment of diseases, for correct and balanced diet and healthy lifestyle at the St. Petersburg International Health Forum which will be held in the exhibition center “Lenexpo”. Special sections devoted to technical means of rehabilitation after injuries and diseases of the musculoskeletal system, to the infrastructure of the health industry as well as to medical tourism are also planned as an exhibition part. 

The primary business focus of the forum will be made on the issues of complex rehabilitation of people with diseases and injuries of the musculoskeletal system and their integration into society. Professionals will dedicate scientific and practical conferences, discussion platforms and seminars to the issues of pediatric and adult orthopedics and traumatology, of adaptive physical education and sports for people with disabilities, of medical and social assessment and the issues of medical and social rehabilitation. Besides, interdisciplinary approaches in the diagnosis, treatment, prevention of complications, rehabilitation of diseases in endocrinology, cardiology, neurology, gastroenterology in consideration of concomitant diseases and pregnancy will be discussed. Aspects of the development of pharmacy, vascular and plastic surgery, obstetrics and gynecology as well as innovations in laboratory diagnostics won't be left unattended. Scientific support of the St. Petersburg International Health Forum is given by the Russian Academy of Sciences, by the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences as well as by the Russian Academy of Agricultural Sciences.
